Get ready to save the world! Cloud Girls is the third game released by Koko Tap.
The goal in Cloud Girls is to protect your world for as long as you can by gathering falling stars by rotating your vibrant, spinning, finger-controlled, multi-coloured shield. As the game progresses, the falling, tumbling stars start to increase in speed and frequency, making it increasingly hard to spin your shield around fast enough to protect the world. Bonus stars provide extra score or replenish your lives fall among the other stars—make sure to let them through the shield to gain the bonuses they provide.
Players begin the game by selecting one of the five distinctly different Cloud Girls to play—Jenna, Anya, Mirabel, Keiko or Bjork—before leaping into space with their multi-coloured shield.
Your score in Cloud Girls is determined by how long you survive the onslaught of tumbling stars with extra points provided by one of the two types of bonus stars. At the end of game your score is saved locally, but can also be submitted to the Cloud Girls online server (WiFi or cellular connection required) where your score will be added to the ranks of other players around the world. You can review your own scores and those of the top 100 players around the world with the click of a button. You can also submit your hign score to the OpenFeint online leaderboards!
The game features delightful art, fun music, power-ups, online high scores and superb transition and graphic effects. Join the ranks of the Cloud Girls and save the world today!
What's new in version 1.5? OpenFeint's social networking features have been added to the game. We added difficulty levels based on the Cloud Girl a player selects. Players can now start with 10 lives (easy), all the way down to only 2 lives. We added a scoring multiplier based on what difficulty you choose (the more difficulty the challenge the higher the multiplier). We also added four "levels" in the gameplay so that the game will keep getting harder well beyond the three minute mark now. Finally, we updated many of the game graphics and cleaned up some of game's programming code, including a check to see if the application is a cracked version.
The producer and creative director for Cloud Girls was Koko Tap founder David Janik-Jones. Version 1.5 was programmed vy Rob Drimmie and David Janik-Jones, and original programming was done by Ricardo Quesada, author of the highly recommended cocos2d-iphone framework for building 2D games, demos, and other graphical/interactive applications. The beautiful Cloud Girls were created, and generously made available to game designers, by Daniel Cook of lostgarden.com.
Cloud Girls v1.0 was released October 7, 2008.
Cloud Girls v1.5 was released April 20, 2009.
